| IN A CHILDHOOD MEMORY
VERSE 1
When I was young I didn’t know how quickly time would come
and
go. I’d play away the day and then Mama and Daddy would tuck
me in.
I’d lie in bed with my teddy bear close to me. Those days
are gone but
memory lives on in me, In a childhood memory.
CHORUS
Doctor Seuss and Mother Goose, the taste of Mom’s apple pie.
These are the memories I recall sweet as a lullaby. I think about
the
happy times I had, fishing on the river with Dad. Another smile
is
waiting for me in a childhood memory.
VERSE 2
Some people say you can’t go back, I disagree with all of
that.
I’m going to take a little trip today, Back to the country
home where I
was raised. I’ll see my Mom and Dad waiting by the old oak
tree; and all
my childhood joy will come back to me, In a childhood memory.
